About TheNutMegConstitutionalist

One Connecticut millennial's research and commentary on politics and culture

My name is Meghan, but most people just call me Meg. I am a millennial female. I am a lifelong resident of Connecticut, the Nutmeg and Constitution State. Connecticut happens to be a very blue (Democratic) state. I happen to not bleed blue in my political philosophy and views. I am the constitutionalist sheep of the flock. There are others of us here, but they are few and far between (or too frightened to speak their uncompliant, non-Leftist minds). After spending a decade studying through the Leftist-drenched world of academia at undergraduate and graduate institutions, I earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 2017. I learned more about politics being in the trenches of university life, than from my dissertation. This blog explores state and national politics and culture through old-fashioned research and opinionating – in ways that much of academe do not foster, let alone permit. This is a space for writing and saying the things I cannot write and speak in American classrooms or campuses. This is a space for constitutional-based liberty of thought and freedom of expression. “Without Freedom of thought there can be no such thing as wisdom; and no such thing as public liberty, without freedom of speech.” – Benjamin Franklin
